COMMUNITIES

Aliso Canyon, home of the worst methane gas and poly-toxin blowout in the history of the United States. The blowout was discovered on October 23, 2021, due to a rupture on the SS-25 well casing and lack of safety maintenance. Thousands of residents reported nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, headaches, nose bleeds, respiratory problems, brain fog, lethargy, and the list goes on. Thousands of residents evacuated their homes for up to seven months only to come back to the same symptoms after the well was plugged and after over 100,000 metric tons of methane escaped from the well.

At a time where the health study would have been most critical during the blowout, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health wrote a letter to local doctors, encouraging them not to perform toxicology tests on residents complaining of certain symptoms. Now, 6 years later, a patient-centered health study still has yet to be conducted and has yet to be guaranteed. Our first goal is that this community would receive the health study that is long-overdue.

As we begin the early stages of our organization, EHR is currently working toward a patient-centric health study for the north San Fernando Valley communities. Our desire is to extend our resources to communities throughout California and, ultimately, throughout the United States.
